Corian® by DuPont™ is a high-performance kitchen worktop which is an alternative to granite, quartz, and other conventional surfacing materials.
It is a solid surface material made from one third acrylic resin and two-thirds mineral filler.
Corian® is now internationally recognised for it’s value to the world and architecture, in particular creating a seamless look in your kitchen.
Corian® kitchen worktops always look fantastic even with heavy usage in your home. It’s very easy to clean and because Corian® is nonporous, stains do not penetrate the surface. So with proper cleaning, your kitchen worktop, sink and splashback will be looking fantastic.
One of the most noticeable benefits of Corian® products, such as sinks, worktops, and splashbacks is the sleek and seamless look.
Corian® works brilliantly together with such materials as stainless steel, wood, and glass. So if you can’t stretch to using Corian® for your sink or kitchen splashback, it will still look great with a glass or tile backing.
Corian® is a sold, non-porous surfacing material composed of one third acrylic resin and two-thirds mineral filler. The main material is Aluminum TriHydrate derived from bauxite, an ore from which aluminum is produced.
Since coming onto the market in 1967, it’s proved itself to be a remarkably durable material. It cannot delaminate and stands up well to daily kitchen use. It won’t also be chipped or show nicks and scraps in heavy traffic areas.
Corian® does not support the growth of fungi so it’s just about as clean as it’s going to get on a kitchen worktop. The material has been certified by many different organisations and laboratories for its hygienic qualities.
It’s a non-toxic material which means under normal temperature conditions, it does no emit gases. Because of it’s non-toxic properties, you can find it in many public areas.
Surfaces in Corian® are renewable, meaning they can be fully restored with ordinary mild abrasive cleansers and a scouring pad. This is why we recommend it often for kitchen worktops as those nasty stains and marks will simply ‘come off’ with little hassle.
Colours and textures run through the entire thickness of the material and cannot wear away. The main benefit is it cannot delaminate which means it’s going to last a long time.
You can really ‘fill your boots’ in terms of colours and creativity. It has many different finishes and colour options, so if you need any help choosing or want to discuss the different stylings, contact us today
It can be worked just like hardwood and even using similar tools. If there is anything wrong or in need of repair, Corian® have a large network of fully trained and approved fabricators and service centre.
