Traditional bedroom wardrobes with dressing table

The Brief

The client wanted a dedicated dressing room with his and her sections. They wanted a combination of shelving for shoes, hanging rails for shirts and drawer space. The room was quite dark with little natural light, so they wanted some form of soft lighting.

The Solution

We created a truly special dressing room for this client, as part of our Weybridge collection of walk-in wardrobes. We commissioned a symmetrical wardrobe with matching his and her wardrobes and a shared drawer space for bed linens and other accessories.

To solve the lighting issue, we grouted an acrylic cylinder into the sides of the wood which were on sensors, so when the client entered the room the lights activated. We wanted a soft LED light, so the acrylic casing throughout gave a soft glow which was not too aggressive. We are immensely proud of this project and it’s given us the ability to work with many similar projects.

I came to Wharfedale Fitted Furniture as I live in Ilkley and I had heard good things about them from neighbours. My house is an old farmhouse with a lot of the original brickwork and structures. I needed something bespoke to fit the dimensions of the master bedroom (and the walls are a bit uneven). David and Stephen were wonderful to me and made sure that I got everything that I needed in the designs. They helped me through every step of the process and everything was finished so quickly! What I was really impressed with was how they wanted to make absolutely sure that everything was going to fit perfectly and that I was completely happy with the finished set. The whole service was really personal!
